One thing for sure, some people really appreciate oldtimers.

Me too. My dream car is a 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster. My granddad had one of those back in the 60’s. I still have the photo of it somewhere.Meantime i just insert one similar here.

Very important part of an engine swap is the correct locking on the cogs before you remove the belt.

Also, as it was out of the van had a good chance to clean it.
I love engines.Always amazed by the amount of knowledge compressed into these metal blocks.
After the diff came off i had to replace the seal as i have mentioned.
It is tight but it does not stop me :). So i just grabbed an old used brake disc off a vauxhall combo off my fleet. Drilled 2 holes as an extra.Got some A2 steel bolts and 2 pieces of metal bar off of a Hotpoint washing machine installation kit. With these and a huge torque wrench, i just got it off with a light jump on them. Use whatever you can find around as a tool. That’s what i learned at my granddad’s workshop. If you don’t have the right tool, make one!
There is nothing impossible, you just not trying hard enough 🙂
