Timing!

Very important part of an engine swap is the correct locking on the cogs before you remove the belt.

Also, as it was out of the van had a good chance to clean it.

I love engines.Always amazed by the amount of knowledge compressed into these metal blocks.

Let’s talk about the back again :)

Found few more pictures about the rear sub-frame. As i got the diff off and horrified by the state of the 8 suspension arm, noticed that the holders were gone too.It is so unbelievable where neglect of proper service takes you. How lucky the previous owner was? I think he doesn’t even have an idea! 🙂

And another one of this mess :

Looked like this on both sides. Thank to modern times I have picked up one off Ebay. Replaced the whole sub-frame and all the arms too.changing the bushes only would have costed the same as a new set from Germany 🙂

Plus the bushes in the bottom end of the shocks, and obviously two more in the wheel buckle :). No wonder why the S-Class has a nice smooth ride. With all these and the air suspension it is just superior. Driving my armchair on the road 🙂

Mercedes S320 heater valve misery

Blowing hot air through the side vents especially summertime is not nice. Even with the air-conditioner working on full cold 🙂 .  Pair of Bosch motors in a little  group called the DuoValve, i guess they never thought it will wear. So just build the piece to non recyclable/re-workable. Bad, very bad. These are some pics after dissection,

and if this isn’t bad enough look at the top of the motor,

this was not well built at all! But again, after i have replaced it with a second hand unit, running as it should.
